Leonard Sanders Sr.

	Leonard Sanders Sr., 74, of Elkville, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2002 at 10:05 a.m. in Herrin Hospital.
	Mr. Sanders was a retired coal miner and was the owner and operator of Elkville Senior Billiards.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hallidayboro.
	Mr. Sanders was born February 13, 1928 in Du Quoin, the son of Bennie and Myrtle (Rond) Sanders.  He married Ina Marie Gude on April 2, 1944 in Du Quoin.
	Surviving are his wife, Ina of Elkville; sons, Rev. Leonard E. Sanders Jr. of Old  Du Quoin and Gerald L. Sanders Sr. of Elkville; daughters, Lindell Kelly of Du Quoin and Rosaline Carter of Urbana; one brother, Bennie of Columbia , Mo.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carrie Scott.
	Private family funeral services were held Thursday, December 26 at 11 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leon Kelly and Rev. Leonard Sanders Jr.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at Du Quoin.
	There was no visitation.
	Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
